CNS toxicity has been implicated in a number of deaths. I personally know someone who survived a CNS hit and am aware of several other near misses which could have been little other than a CNS hit. I don't know of any deaths this year, but I'm not sure what inference one draws from that.
CNS toxicity exists in the presence of high PO2's. Lots of research and empirical example. Does it knock off Nitrox divers right and left, no. Is it something to be careful about? Pretty obvious answer to that.
