It depends on the brand of reg. The DIR guys use Apex dry sealed 1st stage regs (the best reg by far) and they service them about every 5 years. DIR guys typically service Scubapro regs every 1-3 years. Scubapro regs have a bad habit of internal pressure creep... so you will probably need to adjust the IP about every 100 dives.
