I do appreciate all the thoughts from those who have posted. (Just to let you know, however, I didn't harvest email addresses from this or any other BBS or Usenet group. They came - one by one - from the contact pages of the club/shop's website. These were the people listed to contact for more info, etc.)
I had already looked into banner ads, etc., and have postcards, brochures and press kits ready to mail (snail mail) as well. I guess I was looking at things from my own perspective - my name is listed as contact for the boat and I just expect to receive info from companies dealing with dives, charters, etc. I'll look at it a little differently from now on - emails only go to those who request info. Period.
