I live in the S.F. Bay Area. There's way that I would consider getting into that water to be safe. That water is as dirty as can be! The area is likely to have high levels of pollutants, including E. coli. Who knows what the Navy dumped at Hunter's Point over the decades.

I'm sure that everyone involved has the best intentions, but the health risk to anyone diving in that water is very high. Protocols for diver safety - 02 on site, safety/rescue divers, medical evacuation, chamber availability... would need to be established irregardless of the water quality.

Please don't put people's safety at risk for the sake of entertainment!
