The slug u saw was probably Anisidoris Nobilis (http://siolibrary.ucsd.edu/slugsite/nudwk260.htm). The eggs these guys lay are also unique and fairly common (http://siolibrary.ucsd.edu/slugsite/cz_457.htm)

On the jelly, did it have a consistancy something like a plastic milk container? If the jelly is like we've been seeing in Laguna lately, it was probably a "salp" which isn't a true jellyfish and has no stingers. Individual critters are 3-4" but usually they string together in open water. At Deadman's last week there was a 40' long string of them. Seems like they get eaten by the fish as all the individual ones I've seen are lacking the purple runners. (http://www.divebums.com/FishID/Pages/pelagic_invertebrate_colony.html)
