The entire industry discounts the OW1 course as a loss leader. Ken has explained that phenomenon more than a few times here on this board.
So in fantasy land, if OW1 were taught on the outside like they teach it in colleges for P.E. credit, then it would be a whole lot longer, and not a 4-dive-wonder weekender.
Any way you look at it, 4 dives or 12, the OW1 certification [not called that by any of the agencies anymore] is still only a license to learn. Blah blah blah.
I'll bet in Beverly Hills the B/Cs have to be really, really flashy. And beautiful no doubt. Any colour other than black, for sure. Ken probably needs to have the patience of Job to work the clientel in Beverly Hills. Glad its not me. The really super-rich people I have to deal with do not scuba dive. Thank God.
