First open water dive was with Reef Seekers in '91. Paradise cove with melissa. Great instructor and great experience.
Took another OW class with my girlfriend(buddy) a few years ago. Extensive beach diving instruction. 4 skin dives including various entries and exits (rocky and sand), long distance ocean swim, kelp crawl, beach analysis.
Then everything was repeated with scuba.
I've helped this instructor with many classes since and feel his students come away with a strong foundation to build from.
