Just a NAUI/PADI question? There is a lot of talk on here about NAUI vs PADI in beach diving. Does NAUI require a beach dive in thier basic open water class? I got certified by PADI about a year ago and did 2 beach dives and 2 boat dives. I think it is the instructor/store responsibility to train the students. Nothing says you cant do a beach dive. I think some (not all) of the instructors in both agencies are getting lazy and dont want to do a beach dive themselves, or the profits for doing a beach dive are not quite the same as filling that boat to catalina. Those are just my opinions.
