I may be just a lowly PADI OW diver, but I would think that although the fat slob and lean machine have different buoyancies the diver can find his total weight for neutral buoyancy for either salt or fresh water and then convert between the two as TDI2 originally stated.

Of course the fat slob and lean machine would have to stay fat and lean, respectively, between their salt and fresh water dives ;-)
