Correct... I do agree that the compensation calculation (my earlier post) was relevant to the weight belt only, and did not taking into account the complete package, including the person, wesuit, etc). However, it was an attempt to 'estimate' it based on some fuzzy logic... .025 less buoyant...so wear .025 more weight..
If some "real" calculation is needed, one can always fill a container with 'n' amount of water (say a round barrel of 3 ft. in diameter, 10 feet tall), mark the 'water level', then have the diver fully geared up, and have him enter the water, and again 'mark' the new water level. You can then more accurately(Archemedes principle) calculate the needed weight (pi * r * r)* h * K (where h is the water level increase, r is 3 ft/2, and K is some constant.
However, I think it's just easier to go to the pool and get the data imperically.
