Personaly on my tanks I will take them to the fill pressure let them cool back and continue till they are pretty cool. I know that is to time consuming for most. Usually low pressure steel 200 to 300 psi over they will cool back. Remember shops and boats legaly should not do this. Aluminum no way, do not! do that, you are asking for Big Boom some day. HP do not do that either. The more over, time and time again does reduce fill cycles, so be prudent and careful and you will be all right. This is not a game to see what limits you can reach. An accident in this area is tragic usually. No your fill station no your tank you are filling. Above all else safety first when it comes to this.
