It is very sad that people on this BBS are ready to slam others without knowing the facts.
Here's the facts:
An SSA instructor who was conducting an open water class within the parameters of SSI and RSTC training standards experienced an accident. He experienced a problem with his rebreather which resulted in a hypoxic situation. He was rescued, and I'm sure you will all be happy to know, is doing fine.
As a side note: There were seventeen students on the boat, however, he was only working with five students at the time. All SSA instructors are aware of RSTC and SSI training standards and conduct themselves within those standards.
