I did some freediving at Christmas Tree Cove on July 13. Generally I stayed in water about 25 fsw or shallower.

The trail from the bluff down to the beach is passable, but it's very steep and one portion near the top is washed out and hard to traverse. It was very challenging with freediving gear and 12 pounds on a weight belt; I wouldn't like to have done it with a tank.

Conditions were pretty good the day I was there -- vis maybe around 20 feet. Kind of light on fish that particular day, but I ran across tons of sea stars. I shot this collage which I previously posted here:

Last week I freedove a little down the coast at Pt. Vicente Fishing Access. Vis was similar but saw a lot more in the way of fish, including a big cabezon, several octopi and a couple of bat rays (partner also saw a leopard shark).
