That mooring was apparently placed by one of the Avalon dive operators. The sailboat has decided it would be a good home. People that go to the Island and take a mooring are required to pay for them. This guy is not paying anyone and he has effectively ruined our ability to anchor in the area.

This is a classic case of what can go wrong when non-commercial types are allowed to use commercial moorings.
