First of all, you should probably check out www.californiadiveboats.com for complete list and description of the different boats you're interested in. You probably want a boat out of San Pedro or Long Beach. There are a number of boats listed in that area with descriptions of the boat and links.
For dive reports abut the island diving and descriptions of the diving from the boats, check out www.diver.net/seahunt.
