I have often wondered the same thing.

I know a few posters here who do.

You have heard what the day shifts do: presentations and fish feeding, along with a bit of cleaning algae. Well the night teams is where we just scrub and help out behind the scenes. It is a great stress reliever after a hard day at the desk. Wednesday night I did a 1:50 dive in an exhibit with a commercial poressure washer. I turned the water in the exhibit into a redish murk that took a while to be filtered out. But the exhibit looked awesome when I was done. If I had a job doing something like grafitti removal by day this might not seem like fun. But I have a desk job and it was a blast -- literally. I lose track of time when I do this. It seemed like I was in for about 15 minutes. I really look forward to my shift every week. It is a hoot. More often we are just armed with kitchen scrub brushes and tooth brushes. We will dive in water from the 40s to the 80s in the same night.

You have not lived until you see the aquarium from the inside!
