My family had the good fortune of having our camp site right next to Eric's at Van Damme State Park. He showed all 11 of us how an abalone is cleaned, cut and pounded. A tad different than when I did it 38 plus years ago. Later, after we had eaten he offered us absolutly the best abalone I or anyone else in the family had ever eaten. We gave him some of our London Broil and then the other divers arrived.
Before the evening was over I made sure we gave him a big bag of rock cod we had caught on Wednesday. Eric made the trip to the coast an even better time. It looks from everything I saw he really enjoys sharing his experiences with everyone.
