I volunteered there for about 18 months until my life situation changed in a way that I needed the time for even better things. I was fortunate to achieve the scientific diver rating and even got to participate in blue water collecting dives.
Right now, I volunteer for the Orange County CoastKeepers for their kelp reforestation project in Crystal Cove.
The Aquarium is well worth the effort and meeting the required qualifications you are pretty sure to be accepted. The do ask for at least a one year commitment.
