And I'd guess about 85% of divers use computers.
God, I'm agreeing with Karl again.

On a square profile, dive computers are generally
MORE conservative than tables. For example, on air,
the Navy tables allow 60 minutes at 60; I think
my Oceanic computers allow 52 minutes. The computer
wins when the depth varies.

I like the Oceanic computers because the have a sort
of "saturation meter" that shows how saturated your
most saturated tissue is. I use this to make the
computer even more conservative, that is I want a
"pixel" out in the green before I leave 30', and
two out before I leave 15'. (Note: pixel is in
quotes because the older Oceanic computers had
more pixels and so you could read them finer.
I now have to wing the 30' departure because their
are about half as many pixels.)

The Oceanics are also the only ones I could
understand in the store without a manual (back when
I bought my first one).
