Eagle Ray You are soooo right. Even non-divers can get DCI, example bomber crews, astronauts, and others who go to extreame alttitudes in a rapid fashion.

Both the tables and the computers are no guarentee against DCI. If it is a concern, use both the computer and the table. It can't hurt to use the data from both and dive the most conservative.

Of course if you are going to use tables, then which tables do you use, the Navy tables, the Recreational Dive Planner form Diving Science & Technology Corp, or the new NAUI table? I am sure theere are others out there, but you get my point.

Botom line is do what is comfortable for you. But if you are diving, then you assume some risk.
