There are now upwards of around 40,000 NAUI instructors of record. The most recent NAUI instructor numbers are approaching that now, as of this week!
I can remember back to the single digit and double digit NAUI instructor numbers, when it was possible to meet guys (and gals) like that on a regular basis, at Universities, and some dive stores, and in the Navy. Now, its rare.
I hope all the single digit and double digit NAUI Instructors out there are still diving, still enjoying the ocean, and still sharing their memories with other newer NAUI divers.
We are all so lucky to be living in California, where we can get both enjoyment and food from our Pacific Ocean, and where NAUI was born 43 years ago as well. 40,000 NAUI instructor certifications later, it is good to be back home, with NAUI.
Forgive my jubilation. I realize that YMCA and SSI try really hard, as well, to offer the best scuba diving instruction available, as well.
