I live way out in the middle of nowhere. Nearest diveshop has done me wrong a couple of times, and I won't go back. Next nearest "dive shope" is 3 hours away. There is a SC in between. Dive shop opens at 10am, boat leaves at 7-8am. Shop closes at 6pm long before I can get there. SC opens at 9 or 10am, and is open till 9pm, easy to get to. So, I research and find out about what I want to buy, decide which brand and style, then buy. If it is real technical, I spend time to go to the dive shop, but for a mask, U/W light, air fills, skin, and things like that, SC or on the net.
