Also bear in mind that most of the people doing an inspection a SC are NOT trained to do so by a professional agency. I dare you to ask to see their certificates of completion in such a course! Not the one of the dept manager but THEIR OWN.
Part of my point was Sport Chalet doesn't give a hoot about your gear or you. Find a decent local independent shop and keep them in business. You'll learn something AND at the same time be keeping industry standards higher than corporations like PADI and SC ever would on their own.
