The Cobra Tourer is holding up well as a fishing and diving kayak. The small dolley gave out shortly after I purchaed it though. I replaced it with a home made model after this design: http://home1.gte.net/res02ksx/tips.html

I added a fish finder / depth finder to the yak for metering new spots to dive as well as to aid in finding big fish. I have used the yak extensively in the last year for both fishing and diving as well as sport touring. It cuts across the thickest kelp beld without much trouble and can handle some chop pretty well. The carbon fiber paddle is very light and paddles well but is not very good for diving and cave paddling as it chips easily. When I sat on it last week it almost gave up the ghost. I'll go for the aluminum shafted small touring paddle soon. The best part to me is I can launch the thing anywhere and don't have to pay the DMV a dime for owning a personal watercraft!
