Most of those adversely affected by the closures have profited from the overfishing for years. If they somehow harbored the illusion that it would go on forever, i have little sympathy.
When they speak of the economic hardship, i can't help but get the impression they would be content to just allow the fish to become extinct in order to maintain their personal incomes.
I am very grateful that we have a government that is actively looking out for the future/next generation of people. That's good government!
Without governmental intrevention people would destroy this planet and most of the life it holds...for personal income.
