I have spent about a month a year for the last 11 years at SCI and i have never seen the locals trapping lobsters.(admittedly) I don't spend much time up around the west end where i suspect that the poaching took place, but i have seen enough 'activity' to understand their sense of entitlement....
Not to justify what they have done, but they engage in some real seroius stuff and i can understand how they could overlook the civillian regs.
(imo) it isn't nearly as offensive as some civillians poaching lobster for personal gain.
Elaine, don't you wish that the Giant Sea Bass had the same protected status as the garibaldi?
