...it's your life support equipment, and it YOUR life. You need to learn to check the status of the equipment before you leave the store. Yeah, it's a PITA, and the store staff will probably be annoyed, but that's life (I did mention that it's YOUR life, right?).
BTW, after you found one connection leaking, why didn't you check out all the others?
