7 mm with a 3/5 hooded vest and an AL80. Yes at 20 ft. I'm net 3 negative w/o using the wing (15 positive with) at the surface full and neutral at 20 feet empty. As for being down in the chop, you're right, I don't ride as high in the water as I could with, say, a 36. What I give up in lack of flotation I more than get back in reduced drag, whether in the surface or underwater. In the chop, I turn my back to the swell. If necessary, I keep my reg in my mouth. I don't dive deeper than 100 feet, wet, so compression is manageable.
