I used to dive an atpac back in the dark ages. That is a back inflation BC with integrated weight of Lead shot and marbles, for those younger divers. Anyway, in surf I used to remove it outside the surf zone and ride it in like a boogie board. I kept the reg and spg between me and the BC so they did not get sandy. I woudl catch a wave and ride it all the way in. I stopped whnt he twin 60s hit the sand. Then I would stand up and carry the rig up the beach. It worked better that you might expect.
