Captain, I have been on your boat many times, and have always enjoyed the trips. I believe the safety of passengers and crew should ALWAYS outweigh the desires of someone that want's to go to the intended destination. I think it is better to alter course for Catalina than canceling the trip altogether.
Most people lead busy lives, and having a trip canceled vs. re routed would prevent them from being able to do any diving, since scheduling dive trips along with other commitments can be challenging.
