Most guys (who got fish) used a 55" to 60" gun w/ 3 5/8 bands. I also use a black skirted mask. My problem I think was from being a little sick before the trip even started and escalating as the boat pounded the rough seas. On the otherhand I have gotten nauseas when diving for long periods of time in big surf.
Funny thing happened on the morning that I was feeling better, we had fried sausages for breakfast. Ohhhh so good that I went back for 3 more and Shell (yes Shell the legendary bug hunter,freediver and all around nice guy said that those sausages would be coming back to visit me on my next dive....yep they did.
