That is what I was told too. I was giving up and heading back in with 1000 psi in my tank and about 50 ft offshore I saw a glint in the sand out of the corner of my eye. I looked again and it was a weight and the rest of the package was under the sand. I guess it was my lucky day. All the guys that I was there with found theirs just off the shoreline. What was funny though is that my wife was there with me as surface support and she told me that there was a guy that walked in dropped down then resurfazced in 2 mintues. He was the first on out with his limit. He was complaining that he wasted a full tank of air on a 5 minutes dive. hehe. I would have just played on without a care.
