Everyone should have an Octopus in the first place. Then you wouldn't need to worry about the situation referance above. It should be a required item in every diver's gearbag.
We all wear seat belts in cars, helmets on motorcycles, airbags, etc. etc. An Octopus is a cheap piece of Scuba and there is no reason we shouldn't all have them. yet there is so many divers that bitch about how they don't want one or don't need one. I guess it's like how old guys need some fancy sports car to compensate for other factors. They are for our own safety and anyone else's in the water with us. As diver we should look out for ourselves and all our fellow divers. Not just our buddy, but anyone else in the water with us or around us. No exceptions.
