No, it's actually Saturday morning. The actual regulation reads:
29.90. Spiny Lobsters.
(a) Open Season: From the Saturday preceding the first Wednesday in October through the first Wednesday after the 15th of March.
Saturday begins at 12:01am. You can stay out of the water that day and start on Sunday if you want to be extra safe :)
