I seem to remember that there was some issue with prophylactic use of oxygen. I think it was in an Alert Diver article but I am not sure. My memory of the argument was twofold. The first was that once oxygen was administered, a course of treatment had begun. Once a course of treatment was begun, it needed to be taken to a known treatement endpoint. That could imply that a chamber ride was required even though no symptons were present. The second issue was that the administration fo oxygen could prevent a diver from having early symptions and that a DCS hit could take place later and be missed or happen at an inopportune time or place for treatment.

Anyone know the latest guidelines?
