DAN has addressed this issue several times and "their" policy is, if you go on O2 you go to see the doctor for evaluation.

They DISCOURAGE use of O2 absent any sysmptons of DCI because it can MASK symptoms of DCI. This "masking would of course present itself as a delayed onset. So if you go on O2 and are enroute that is good. Or in short, the medical folks at DAN disagree with your statement. Sorry.

As for the safety of computers. Evidently there was more than just the one event and the computer program locked up for the divers safety. Divers do need to read the operators manual and know their computer. Unfortunalty, we men as a specices tend to say, "instructions, i don't need no stinking instructions. I can figure it out just by punching the buttons". Kind of like why we never ask for directions when we are not lost, but exploring new "short cuts".
Just my $0.02.
