Why is it that you want to assume Brian hunted and caught those bugs only to boost his ego? I think you should concentrate on yourself and leave the psyco-bable analysis of others alone. Perhaps he just enjoyed the diving and hunt regardless of the outcome. The fact those 2 oversized, brainless roaches crossed his path was simply natural selection...
