Where have all the bugs gone? Bad economy to blame?

Seems like these days, everything is blamed on the 'bad economy'... so why not this....

Anyway... I did go for the lobster openning, but I was 'hoop netting', and not diving. No bugs, not even shorts. I did do a couple of daytime dives so far, including a 'dedicated lobster hunting daytime boat trip' on a six pack... only 1 of the 6 divers got a bug (notice I said 'a' bug, meaning 1 bug for the whole boat).

So... I decided that nighttime is the way to go. I remember several months back, I had seen a few shorts around (south of) Deer Creek. Last Monday night, I thought I'd give it a try (nighttime). I saw quite a few creatures, including perch, corbina, sharks of several species, including sand, swell, bat ray, sting ray, etc... However, NOT EVEN A SINGLE SHORT BUG !!!

Is it just me, or have the bugs moved out in search of a 'better economy' elsewhere?
