Re: Nautilus Club - New Beginnings
As Bob Dylan described, "The times, they are a changin'!" The Diving
Locker is now under the direction of new owner, Doug Williams.
Luckily, the old adage "The more things change, the more they stay
the same" will apply to all the divers and new students that have
been & will be visiting the shop.
Under Doug's direction, the Diving Locker will continue to offer
quality service for all your gear recommendations, purchasing and
continuing education.
Doug and Brent Regnart (store manager) also realize that as times
change, the sport of Diving changes as well. In addition to
maintaining the high standards that have been set by the Diving
Locker over the years, the store will begin offering Nitrox fills
(possibly as soon as October 25) and is already offering new lines in
tech-diving equipment, such as Halcyon and Pressed Steel! The store
will also have banks of Trimix and deco gases through 100% O2
available for tech-divers at the same date.
Along the same lines, the Diving Locker recognizes that diving is
a "social sport" and as such, should enable people a means to meet,
talk about experiences and share new ones as well! The store will
continue to offer exotic travel opportunities to some of the best
diving sites in the world, under the direction of Chuck Nicklin! We
would also like to announce a "New Beginning" of the Diving Locker
diver's group, "The Nautilus Club"! The first meeting will be
6:30pm, Tuesday Oct. 29 at the Diving Locker (1020 Grand Ave.). Doug
and the Staff will discuss the ongoing changes and renovations to the
shop and how these will better serve the diving community. Monthly
meetings will begin meeting regularly shortly thereafter and once a
suitable membership is established, officers will be nominated and
the club will once again be active in the diving community!
Nautilus Club membership benefits will include;
Free first year membership to all our new students through the end of
this year!
Free lifetime membership for previously registered club members!
Free Nitrox course to all club members that are not Nitrox certified.
Additional benefits will be announced at the meeting (rumor is free
air/Nitrox fill cards to members).
In addition, beginning Nov. 3, The Nautilus Club (under the initial
guidance of the Diving Locker and it's Dive masters), will begin to
offer "fun dives" throughout San Diego County! These dives will
provide an opportunity for all divers to rediscover the San Diego
dive sites such as Ladera St., Palomar St., Horseshoe Reef, Pillbox,
Little Solana Cove and many others. These weekly dives will also
serve as a means to share experiences and have fun!! Regularly
scheduled boat dives will also be offered.
We at the Diving Locker invite you to come down and see all the
changes we've made and to talk to Doug and the staff! We also hope
to see you at the club's meetings & "fun dives" as we re-discover San
Diego dive sites!!
