Eastern or Maine Lobster

I was out bug hunting off PV this weekend. My buddy came back with a Maine lobster. No kidding.....claws and everything. He said that he's heard of others doing the same.

What's up with that???

-Liberals buying live lobster and "freeing them"?
-Escapees from the Redondo Beach "lobster festival"?
-REALLY STRONG CURRENTS????

I wonder if the DFG would be interested in know this?
