There have been some recent sitings of Boccacio in Southern California lately. The main characteristic is that the mouth extends back below the eye.

Boccacio are being seen in places that they are not usually seen. I have recently seen photographs of them off Palos Verdes penninsula. DFG has recently had to close the fishery as the population is estimated to be below 2% of it's historic levels.
