Well.... When I take my gear off (especially the BC-Tank combo), I use the rings (attached to the current line) to clip to the BC's Carrying handle (BC inflated). This way, if the person on the boat is not 'ready' or is incapable of lifting the BC+regulator+tank combo, it will be there... floating...attached to the current line, until you are ready to pull it in!
