msblucow, and ken, entertaining stories:-)...i have had the opportunity to "stealth" with them on a couple of occasions on the coast of catalina, once just west of the east end rock quarry, and then last weekend at the USC wrigley environmental institute reserve...they are most likely to be more afraid of you (unless you are ken or msblucow feeding them in the aop tank:-)...seals are their natural predator, and in a black wetsuit, you most likely look like a seal, so as soon as they see you, they are gone. you have to "stealth" up on them with snorkel only, and no fins if you can, as any movement by you, or splashing water, and they are outa there!
