Isn't this the same as saying as one drives drunk more and more often you get used to it and you don't feel as drunk anymore.
Right up to the point where you kill someone and/or yourself.
The good news is there are those that can get at least some of the drunks off of the roads and can make some of them pay for being so stupid.
To bad we don't have the same ability in the diving world yet....
