There are buoyes for dive boats to tie onto at the Yukon so anchors aren't dropped and chains don't sweep.
Support your arguement that divers do damage!
We could talk about the difference in reef quality from the front side of Catalina against an outer island reef. The unseen and hard to measure effects of diver disrupting the social structure of reefs will be harder to prove. I'll do some research if I have time. I found something about animal reproductive endemic psychopathology.
Reasons for endemic psychopathology
When an animal is living under the same ecological and social conditions as those in which it evolved, the gratification of its instincts will - on average - maximize its potential for reproduction. Whatever makes the animal 'happy' will also be reproductively adaptive.
