A diver died a couple years ago over at Anacapa. He was poaching from a trap and got hung up. There was a big flap about it. He was diving off the Explorer, which hadn't been operating for long at that time. Some people blamed the captain for a delayed search. But the real fact is, traps are designed to trap, and that one did. Yes, he was diving solo, and while some might say that a buddie Would have saved him, and some did say so at the time, buddies are not 100% fail safe. If you don't want to get caught in a loster trap, don't stick you arm in. If you don't want to get caught it a cave or wreck, don't enter. Whatever you do, you better understand the price you may be asked to pay.
