your ears, any open wound, and you don't have to take a "sip." think about it, your reg is submerged in the water and you are inhaling and exhaling through it, but your mouth is still in contact with the water. it is my understanding that you can get sick fairly easliy when the runoff is high (especially from aliso creek) which effects several cities on the coast. all it would take would be a little bit of water to get into your system. i know that bay cleanups are hard, because of all the contamination, and usually water quality testing is done prior to the cleanup...maybe someone else has more...
