The FBI focus on rebreather training is probably a red herring, however even so, a Santa Cruz scuba store alerted the FBI to Middle Eastern email traffic about rebreathers. So the security issue is real enough.

It helps to cooperate with your local FBI sometimes. It just might save lives, somewhere around the globe.

The FBI is known for being very thorough. Their overkill could easily step on Constitutional toes, sometimes. Unless they harass you, normally people give them the benefit of the doubt and try to cooperate.

It is more likely that a containership loaded with a smuggled USSR nuclear warhead will be the cause of the next major port attack, rather than an attack with rebreathers. Who knows what the Middle Eastern groups want rebreathers for?

But if you get a big rebreather order, by email, with delivery terms F.O.B. Yemen, better think about calling your local FBI G-persons back.
