Why the interest in "squid boats". Have you seen them at Santa Barbara or Anacapa islands? If so, When? Why?

I have no interest in "squid boats" since I do not fish with a fishing rod, only a speargun. Actually, they would be "bait boats" by definition and they normally do not spend any time at Santa Barbara Island. They are on the coast or at Catalina. Santa Barbara is to far from home and the market for squid used as bait is in Los Angeles Harbor or around Catalina. There are plenty of squid off the coast locally. They generally have no need to go to the offshore islands.

However, I cannot speak for Anacapa but I will check it out.

BTW, your information on the distribution of the population of the bird is incorrect. I have the statistics on the distribution of the population. If you even care to know, I believe you can get it from the F&G website.
