Since I'm the guy who helped negotiate the protocol with Aera, needless to say I take great interest in something like this.

If any of you who witness these violations (and I'm talking direct knowledge, not "Some guy told me . . .") would care to e-mail me privately at "kenkurtis@aol.com" with dates/names of either boats, captains, DMs, or individuals who think the protocols don't have to apply to them, I'd be happy to follow up.

The jerk DM was half-right . . . they ARE the oil comnpany rules, but he's wrong if he thinks we don't have to follow them. (And I'd be happy to let him and Aera's legal department slug it out as to who's right.)
